General Information
A
highlight or sizzle reel is a professionally produced and edited 3 to
10 minute video designed to showcase the positive results of your public
relations campaign.
We
will assist you by ordering video and audio clips from newscasts and
radio programs, as well as using newspaper and magazines coverage to
produce a compelling video highlighting media coverage of your
successful project.
Highlight
reels are a great marketing tool to show your client how their money
was spent and for your sales force to show prospective clients the
success and frequency of PR efforts.
We
combine high end graphics and music to create an powerful marketing
tool that can be shown to clients, co-workers and potential customers.
The videos are entertaining and engaging while at the same time
emphasizing important points such as total audience numbers/impressions
and key messaging.
The
highlight video can also be used at a year end wrap-up event to show
employees and management a summary of some of the company's public
relations campaign successes.

Quality video
editing and post-production, is a time-consuming and highly technical
activity. Seldom does the end product of do-it-yourself and
home-video production really satisfy in the context of the amount of
effort put in.
There are, of
course, numerous software packages available that automate the
video-editing and DVD production process to some degree, but they rarely
produce a professional finish with high production values and they lack
flexibility to personalise and attain truly stunning results. |

What you need is
your very own professional production video designer and motion graphics
artist – someone with the expertise and technical resources to
create a unique, high-quality and completely personalised record of your
event, or to produce that high-gloss promotional video or showreel to
get your business or your media career off to a flying start! |

Plan Ahead
With
a little bit of prior thought, it can be pretty straightforward to
shoot great-looking video shots. The key is to think about what
you are trying to capture, and the end result you are after, before you
hit the record button!
Whilst
modern camcorders tend to be straightforward to use, it does not
necessarily follow that all you have to do is turn them on in order to
shoot great footage and a major issue that arises with amateur footage
relates to excess movement – largely in the form of constant panning and
zooming.
This can cause problems in the post-production process and may reduce the amount of good quality, usable footage.
It helps to consider your shots in the same way that you would if you were taking a still photograph, so:
-
keep it steady;
-
frame your shot; and
-
resist the urge to pan and zoom too much.
Where you do use pan and/or zoom techniques, slowly and surely does it!
Also,
experimenting with angles and interesting aspects, such as shots from
ground-level, can provide added interest to your footage – but, again,
resist the urge to overdo it!
An
indispensible accessory in any videographer’s toolkit is a
tripod. You don’t need to spend much to obtain a serviceable one
and it will provide stability and smoothness to your shots, particularly
if you are shooting for long durations.
High-action Scenes
If
you are shooting a scene or sequence with lots of movement and energy,
keep the camera tight to the action – close-up and mid-shots will
provide excellent footage (particularly if there are a large number of
people in the scene). The example above ilustrates how you
can capture more dymamic footage.
This
is great for capturing high-energy sporting action, dance routines and
scenes with lots of movement, as it allows you to focus attention in the
areas that you want your audience look.

Lighting Conditions
When shooting outside, if you can film with the sun on your back, you will get brighter, crisper footage with richer colour.
When filming inside
try to allow as much natural light in as possible and ensure that you
keep windows behind or to the side of you as far as possible. The
last thing you want is your subject silhouetted by a window – although
you would be surprised how often this occurs! |
|
Teamwork
Camcorders
are commonplace household items these days. If you are filming an
important event like a sporting grand final, a school show or
graduation, coordinate with your friends to have a couple of camcorders
present and make sure that they are positioned away from each other, to
capture the event from different angles. This will provide a far
more interesting perspective on the event when the footage is edited
together.
